NJ Hall of Fame Nomination Form for 2013
Any citizen of the State of New Jersey may nominate an individual, living or deceased, to be considered for induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Only individuals who have made significant contributions to New Jersey, the United States or the world overall will be considered. In addition, teams or musical ensembles will also be considered for nomination starting with the Class of 2012.
Eligibility:
Nominees must have been born in New Jersey or have resided in New Jersey for at least five years and have a strong association with the state. It must be demonstrated that nominees have made a significant contribution to New Jersey, the country or the world.
Categories:
The New Jersey Hall of Fame prides itself on being as inclusive as possible to showcase New Jersey’s greatest. To that end, we have selected five categories that would incorporate various fields of expertise. The following are general descriptions of each category:
- The Enterprise Category includes such occupations as business leaders, scientists, inventors, technology/computer science, leaders in medicine, entrepreneurs and, philanthropists.
- The Sports Category includes athletes, coaches and others in the field of sports.
- The Arts & Entertainment Category encompasses actors and actresses, various film occupations such as directors, screenwriters, cinematography, musicians, singers, song writers, artists, dancers and those who work in related fields.
- The General Category includes such genres as writers, poets, educators, military leaders, scholars and others not falling into a specific category.
- Finally, the Historical Category is only for deceased New Jerseyans and can incorporate any of the above fields. Nominees in this category have made contributions that transcend any one category.
